Introducing Khajasaja: Food Ordering for Pokhara

We built Khajasaja because Pokhara's restaurants deserved a simple, local way to take orders online, one that fits how they actually work rather than forcing them into someone else's system. Today, Khajasaja is live.

Why we built this

Pokhara has no shortage of good food, from momo and khaja sets to Thakali thali, Newari kitchens, and Lakeside cafes serving everything from thukpa to wood-fired pizza. What was missing was a straightforward way to order it online that matched how restaurants here actually operate, with cash on delivery as the norm and restaurants handling their own delivery rather than relying on a separate fleet.

How it works

Khajasaja is simple by design. You browse restaurants that are live in Pokhara right now, place an order, and the restaurant accepts it and prepares your food themselves. They deliver it to you directly, and you pay with cash on delivery when it arrives. If a restaurant is not able to take your order, it cancels automatically within a few minutes so you are not left waiting around wondering what happened.

One detail we care about more than it might seem: addresses in Pokhara, especially near the lake, are not always consistent enough to rely on a map pin alone. Adding a landmark to your address makes a real difference in getting your food to the right door, and we built that into how ordering works here from the start.

One login for everyone

Whether you are ordering food, running a restaurant, or managing one, Khajasaja uses a single login. There is no separate app or account system depending on which side of the order you are on, just one straightforward way in.
